Otifree - ear cleaning preparation for dogs and cats
OTIFREE has been composed in a way that enables intensive dissolution of earwax and dirt in the external ear canal, and at the same time does not irritate the external surface of the skin. In this way, optimal cleaning properties were obtained and effectively reducing the number of factors that could cause inflammation of the external auditory canal, with good tolerance of the preparation. The ability to dissolve earwax is achieved thanks to an appropriate surfactant. Oily compounds prevent the skin from drying out, maintaining proper hydration and elasticity, which helps maintain the proper structures of protective barriers.
Composition:
A mixture of specific oxyethylene compounds in a neutral, non-irritating, ear-specific base, with strong cleaning and care properties.
Use:
Ear washing method (H. Frede): fill the ear canal completely with the solution; grasp the elastic parts of the ear canal with the thumb, middle and ring fingers, and then, applying repeated pressure, massage upwards in a ventral-dorsal direction. In this way, the fluid is moved up and down and the loose parts of the secretion are washed out towards the auricle.
The intensity of the massage depends on the severity of pain caused by ear inflammation. Simultaneous massage of the ear canal increases the acceptance of ear washing, especially in cats. The fluid is removed from the ear with a cotton swab. After being released, the animal removes dirt particles from the deeper part of the ear canal by shaking its head. Further drying of the ear is unnecessary because OTIFREE does not tend to accumulate.
If the ear canal is not properly cleaned with cotton wool or something similar, there is a risk of causing ear inflammation by pushing the cerumen deeper into the eardrum and causing cuts. If it is more dirty, rinse and massage the external ear canal several times. For more thorough cleaning, the ear canal should be pressure rinsed after the initial cleaning. This can be done using an OTIFREE bottle, dropper or ear rinsing device. Both OTIFREE and body temperature water can be used as a rinsing liquid. If water is used, OTIFREE should be used for repeated washing.
