The muzzle loop uses the dog's instinctive response to the mother's discipline behavior by gently pressing the puppy's muzzle with its teeth. The second loop of the collar placed around the dog's neck also triggers an instinctive response learned in childhood (the puppy calms down when the dog grabs it by the neck to move it to another place). Thanks to this, the Gentle Leader strap located around the neck causes an instinctive feeling of relaxation when the dog starts to pull on the leash.
