An irreplaceable supplement to the bird diet. Calcium is the basic building block of the bones; deficiency leads to underdevelopment and curvature, and in older birds, to weakening and brittle bones. Calcium is also necessary for the construction of bird egg shells during breeding and moulting. The limestone cube was enriched with pieces of shells, which also support the grinding of granular food in the bird's stomach.
